Appraisals for jewelry, diamonds, pearls and gemstones
We will provide you with a written appraisal that determines the value of a piece of jewelry or gemstone based on various criteria (such as color, cut, purity, carat or the origin of the gemstone).
An appraisal can be useful to you on various occasions:
- If you want to sell your jewelry, you will need an appraisal to determine the value of the piece.
- If you want to insure your jewelry, you will also need an appraisal to determine the insurance value of the jewelry.
- Or if you have inherited jewelry/gemstones and would like to have the current value determined.
- For auction houses to determine the value.

Gemmology
The science of gemstones is concerned with researching, recognizing and evaluating gemstones.
The evaluation of gemstones is a complex process that depends on various factors. The four most important criteria for evaluating gemstones are:
- Color: The color is one of the most important criteria for evaluating gemstones. Some gemstones, such as diamonds, are known for their purity and brilliance, while others, such as rubies and sapphires, are valued for their intense color.
- Purity: The purity of a gemstone refers to the number and size of inclusions present in the stone. Inclusions are natural features that occur in gemstones.
- Cut: The cut of a gemstone has a major influence on its brilliance and fire. A well-cut stone will reflect more light and appear more radiant than a poorly cut stone.
- Carat: The weight of a gemstone is given in carats and is therefore decisive for its value.
